GnosisDAO Community Summary ~ June 2026

The monthly newsletter of the Gnosis Ecosystem. GIPs, Snapshot votes, forum debates, GNO tokenomics, and ecosystem moves. Written for holders, delegates, and partners. Issue #3.

At a glance

  • GIP-151 passed on Snapshot, 97.53% For. One month after GIP-150's open-ended redemption right was rejected, it carried decisively (157,749 GNO For to 2,500 Against, quorum met, 49 voters). Snapshot result.
  • On June 1st, Gnosis Pay experienced an exploit due to an ecosystem smart-contract vulnerability, prompting a temporary shutdown. The team contained it, restored all affected balances in full, and had services live again within 5 days.
  • A few weeks later, MiniPay — one of the largest stablecoin wallets, with 16M users — launched its card on Gnosis Pay, together with Visa.
  • DappCon 2026 ran 16–17 June in Berlin, the year's main in-person Gnosis ecosystem moment, featuring keynotes about EEZ, Gnosis Pay and VPN.
  • The Circles Garage six-week builder programme closed on 29 June with 69 builders and a wave of working mini-apps on community money. Full overview https://garage.aboutcircles.com/.
  • GnosisDAO Docs were refreshed alongside the Gnosis Forum — a detailed overview of the ecosystem and new governance guides. https://docs.gnosis.io/.

🏛️ Proposals That Went to Vote

GIP-151, the proposal asking whether GnosisDAO should offer a one-time, pro-rata treasury redemption, closed on Snapshot and passed by a wide margin. 161,740 GNO voted (comfortably above the 75,000 quorum), with 49 unique voters between 19 and 26 June. It is a direct sequel to May's GIP-150 — the open-ended redemption right that was rejected — and the reframing to a single, time-limited window at a NAV snapshot is what changed the outcome.

For 157,749 GNO (97.53%) · Against 2,500 GNO (1.55%) · Abstain 1,492 GNO (0.92%) · Quorum 75k met · 49 voters.

🦉 Forming Up on the Forum

Can the DAO make an economic case for its own products?

Friederike Ernst posted three companion threads in June: the economic case for Gnosis App, Gnosis Pay, and Gnosis Chain. Each makes a structured argument for how the product generates or protects value for the ecosystem and, while still early, introduces discipline around what success looks like in terms GNO holders can interrogate.

Should GnosisDAO fund independent Safe security journalism?

GovernanceSCG, Kenk, and staworth debated a proposal asking the DAO to fund Rekt News for independent editorial coverage of Safe ecosystem security. The thread surfaced a structural problem quickly: Rekt News had separately approached SafeDAO, but a pause on resource allocation there closed that path.

📊 Gnosis Pay had a busy June.

MiniPay, one of the largest stablecoin wallets with 16M users, launched its card on Gnosis Pay, together with Visa. That places everyday stablecoin spending in front of millions of people. It also puts the rebuilt Gnosis Pay stack into live production.

Refunds and reversals now arrive instantly rather than a day later, and withdrawals reach the account owner right away. The system is multi-chain and multi-currency, launching on Celo (home to MiniPay). It stays self-custodial through Safe smart accounts and settles once a day.

Early in the month, an exploit of an ecosystem smart-contract vulnerability impacted some accounts. We restored balances for affected users in full within days, released a fix, and hardened our security.

New Gnosis Pay partners now receive an in-depth dashboard to launch, manage, and monitor their card programmes - on top of significantly improved infrastructure.

Quite a month.
