Gnosis DAO Community Summary ~ September 2026

The monthly newsletter of the Gnosis Ecosystem. GIPs, Snapshot votes, forum debates, GNO tokenomics, and ecosystem moves. Written for holders, delegates, and partners. Issue #6.

At a glance

  • Gnosis Pay made its B2B2C turn official. The original consumer interface wind down happens by the end of the year.
  • No GIPs went to Snapshot in September. The one proposal waiting for a vote, GIP-155, was withdrawn by its author on 1 September before Phase 3.
  • Gnosis Chain processed about 10.2m transactions in September, down 6.3% from August's 10.8m, with fees down 5.2% to around 7,400 xDAI. The validator set kept consolidating, from about 35,800 active validators to about 33,400, while staked GNO held steady near 299,000.
  • Gnosis VPN split into a stable release line and an experimental line, and shipped an interactive world map, deposit-pool support, PIX exit incentivisation and two security patches.

🦉 Forming Up on the Forum

A quiet month at the ballot box. September was about one proposal growing up and another stepping aside.

Should the DAO fund Pipes, encrypted coordination for Safe signers? GhostAgent's Pipes proposal would replace the Telegram groups and email threads Safe co-signers coordinate on today with an encrypted, operator-blind channel tied to the Safe's on-chain owner set.

Should the DAO fund a social B2C platform? Withdrawn. GIP-155, the interactive-frames onboarding proposal covered in Issue #5, will not go to a vote. On 1 September the author said there wasn't enough interest to take it to Phase 3 and that they will self-fund the art installation alone. That clears the governance queue entirely heading into October.

Also on the forum

  • Strategic AAVE-GHO borrow-payback lock?, 5 posts, asks whether the treasury should borrow against its assets instead of selling them. It is early and light on parameters, but it sits alongside August's GNO-backed credit thread as a second treasury-liquidity idea.
  • GIP-125: Gnosis Pay Loyalty & Cashback Program v2 briefly woke up when a user asked whether cashback still existed. The answer, from Chim9: cashback since early last year has been funded from the Gnosis Ltd budget, not the original GIP.

📊 Gnosis Pay turned B2B in September.

The consumer chapter is closing. Gnosis Pay will wind up its own consumer interfaces by the end of the year and has moved fully to enterprise card programmes and white-label infrastructure for wallets and fintechs. The team was candid that it was a hard decision. The live X session with Pay's CEO on 28 September laid out what comes next.
