GnosisDAO Governance Summary ~ October 2025

October focused on governance infrastructure and core ops. The DAO approved a major revamp of Snapshot voting strategies (GIP-140) to improve accuracy and reduce external dependencies, funded ongoing validator tooling via NodeSentinel (GIP-138), and formalized the operational structure for the Gnosis VPN with a new DAO controlled entity (GIP-129). Proposals to renew the Delegate Program (GIP-137), fund ProbeLab’s P2P security metrics (GIP-139), and extend maintenance for the Gnosis Explorer (GIP-136) were rejected. More info below!

🗳️ GIP-140: Should GnosisDAO revamp Snapshot voting strategies — PASSED 📸 Snapshot
Summary: Replaces the subgraph-based GNO strategy with on-chain and beacon-chain strategies to improve accuracy, add StakeWise sGNO/osGNO support, and remove reliance on The Graph. Includes new aggregator contracts on Gnosis Chain and Ethereum and updated delegation logic.
Results:

🗳️ GIP-129: Establish Seldon Inc and appoint a Gnosis VPN Committee — PASSED 📸 Snapshot
Summary: Creates Seldon Inc (100% owned by the Gnosis DAO Operational Foundation) and a governance committee to operate Gnosis VPN, enabling vendor relationships, app-store listings, and operational scalability. Estimated annual ops budget: ~$53,232.

🗳️ GIP-138: Fund the maintenance of NodeSentinel — PASSED 📸 Snapshot
Summary: Funds NodeSentinel, a widely used validator monitoring tool, via a hybrid model: 35,000 DAI retroactive payment plus staking 3,000 GNO (DAO retains principal; rewards fund ops). Includes monthly metrics and Year-1 open-source milestones.

🗳️ GIP-137: Renew the Delegate Program — REJECTED 📸 Snapshot
Summary: Sought a 6-month renewal administered by StableLab ($20,000) and renewed 50,000 GNO in delegations across 10 delegates with stricter performance metrics and reporting.

🗳️ GIP-139: Support ProbeLab for Gnosis Chain P2P network metrics — REJECTED 📸 Snapshot
Summary: Requested $105,000 over 3 months for execution-layer metrics, consensus protocol visibility, network size measurement, and eclipse attack detection tooling and dashboards.

🗳️ GIP-136: Support maintenance of the Gnosis Explorer (v1 + v2) — REJECTED 📸 Snapshot
Summary: Sought €300,000 (~$350,000) for 12 months (plus a second-year pre-approval) to maintain and/or migrate Explorer v1 and v2 with improved UX and ongoing upgrade readiness.

🗳️ GIP-141: Should Gnosis DAO fund the Strategic Visual Adoption Package?
Summary: Conditional $1,500 grant for four additional infographics and articles on Gnosis topics (Chain Architecture, Beacon Staking, DAO Governance Flow, Ecosystem Map). Funding is released only if the initial “Gnosis Defense Stack” visual reaches 3,000 impressions (KPI). Distribution includes X (Twitter) plus multiple Medium network publications for wider reach.
Status: Phase 2 Discussion (poll open; closes in ~4 days).

Action Needed

  • Join discussions: GIP-141 (Strategic Visual Adoption Package) is in Phase 2 and needs community input before moving to a final vote.
