GnosisDAO Governance Summary ~ 25 January 2024

karpatkey's 2023 Year in Review for the GnosisDAO is hot off the press. The report summarizes katpatkey’s activities and achievements in 2023, which shifted from maximizing returns for the treasury to enhancing the Gnosis Chain DeFi ecosystem. karpatkey focused on transferring the GnosisDAO treasury to Gnosis Chain to build a thriving ecosystem. The Gnosis Chain Total Value Locked (TVL) surged from $56M to $229M as a result of several key integrations and launches, most notably Maker's Spark Protocol and the launch of sDAI.

Swapr Liquidity on Gnosis Chain

DXdao was started by Gnosis and DAOstack back in 2019 as a radical experiment in decentralization. Swapr is a multi-chain AMM with a suite of unique features including LP governance, DIY farming, and much more. Swapr is the first automated market maker (AMM) to allow for adjustable swap fees through governance and has been organically developed within the DXdao community. Check out Swapr v3 on Gnosis Chain!

Agave Wind Down

With the launch of Aave, Spark and sDAI on Gnosis Chain, the GnosisDAO in collaboration with karpatkey decided to wind down the operation of Agave. The phase out process will give users plenty of time time to unwind positions and swap their tokens. For more information, please read the thread below.

Do we need this forum and what for? 

In response to the Agave wind down, community members voiced concerns around the decision to discontinue Gnosis Chain's original money market protocol. The discussion has instigated a wider conversation about DAO governance and the scope of the GnosisDAO.

GNO Token Utility and Value Proposition

Community members have struck up a conversation about the token utility and value proposition of GNO by revisiting a forum post from December 2021. The original post aimed to shed light on the main value propositions and utility of the GNO token beyond governance. It lays out the main use cases for the GNO token within the Gnosis Chain and GnosisDAO ecosystem. The recent discussion highlights the burn mechanism in place for xDAI and proposes the same for GNO.

Pushing the Beacon Chain to it’s Limits - The Gnosis Business Chain Network 

Community members have also circled back on this discussion from September of 2023. The original post outlines how Gnosis Chain could be used to create a zk-Bridge enabled inter-beacon-chain network called, The Gnosis Business Chain Network (GBCN). GIP-91: Should the GnosisDAO onboard into Centrifuge Prime? Voting Closes Jan 29, 2024

This proposal initiates the onboarding of GnosisDAO into Centrifuge Prime by investing part of the treasury into Real-world assets (RWAs). The onboarding will be contingent upon the establishment of a Legal Conduit for GnosisDAO by Centrifuge for the safe investment of RWAs. This proposal will integrate existing treasury management processes and services providers such as karpatkey DAO. The benefit of this proposal will provide the GnosisDAO Treasury with an additional diversified source of yield, a resilient legal infrastructure for engaging with RWA investments, and access to additional diversified sources of credit through Centrifuge.
