GnosisDAO Governance Summary ~ 21 February 2024

Hello Gnoseers ~ The Dencun upgrade is on the horizon for Gnosis Chain, scheduled two days ahead of the upgrade for the Ethereum Mainnet. Gnosis Chain is designed to extend Ethereum with the networks Beacon Chain and node architecture, making it fully EVM compatible. Gnosis is committed to contributing to the research, engineering and tooling for Ethereum's stack. Performing the Dencun upgrade ahead of Ethereum is a major milestone achievement. It means that Ethereum core developers have a chance to witness Dencun live on Gnosis Chain prior to their scheduled upgrade. Expect Gnosis Chain to continue along this path for major EIPs while maintaining 1:1 parity with Ethereum!

In other news, Gnosis Pay cards continue to arrive at doorsteps and mailboxes across Europe!

The Gnosis cards are self-custodial, Visa-powered, built with Zodiac and powered by a Safe{Wallet}. You can send any EVM-compatible token to your Gnosis Pay Safe and spend your assets at any Visa terminal in the world. This is just the beginning of many exciting unlocks with the Gnosis Pay card!

GIP-92: Should Gnosis DAO spin-off karpatkey DAO and deploy the KPK Token? 

karpatkey has led the active DAO treasury management space after becoming GnosisDAO’s treasury manager in GIP-20 42 and GIP-58 21. Following the tradition of the sister projects CowDAO 5 and SafeDAO 5, karpatkey will launch a DAO spin-off and a governance token (KPK) from the GnosisDAO.

Gnosis Factor Disbursements: OLAS, HOPR 

Gnosis DAO received disbursements from factor in regards to its investments in OLAS and HOPR. We wanted to take the opportunity to share karpatkey’s strategic action plan with the tokens. The plan involves establishing CoW FM-AMM liquidity pools (LPs) with these tokens to foster a long-term partnership with the respective projects. Additionally, we aim to reinforce our commitment by relocking a significant portion of the DAO’s OLAS tokens. In parallel, we will leverage another portion of the funds to execute strategic buybacks of GNO, strengthening our ecosystem.

Gnosis and Autonolas

A quick post on why we backed Autonolas early on, what we achived so far and what are are planning for the future. We strongly beleive that AI agents will take over bigger and bigger roles in society and perform economically valuable tasks. We further believe that blockchains will play an important role for agents. They will be the “substrate” on which agents “live” (hold their state), pay each other, coordinate with each other.

Allowing to hold interest earning tokens on your Gnosis Pay card

As many of you know people are finally receiving their Gnosis Pay cards. Those allow them to hold tokens (EURe or GBPe tokens by Monerium) on a Safe they control and spend those tokens directly from a Visa debit card.

We are seeing this as the bases to bring the programability of blockchains to the process of day to day payments.

One of the ideas people come up with immediately is to be as “capital efficient” as possible and hold money in some interest earning form as long as possible and minimize the time of money just held in regular stables.
