In 2022, the DAO funded efforts to increase client diversity for Gnosis Chain by giving validators more options. We are extremely excited to announce the arrival of Erigon and, in the coming weeks, Nimbus as additional clients for Gnosis Chain. Gnosis and Ethereum share a similar architectural design, and Gnosis is committed to supporting Ethereum's research, engineering, and tooling advancements. The current Beacon Chain architecture necessitates the use of both Execution and Consensus clients.

Client diversity is crucial for building a secure, resilient, and unstoppable blockchain network. It strengthens the network's robustness by giving users more options and flexibility. Most importantly, relying on one client is a force of centralization and represents a single point of failure.

We also published a new article about Gnosis Chain as an open source, public by default network. As an organization dedicated to developing and growing a community-run chain, it’s important that we work in public, transparently. Internally, we are building a team wiki that will be available for anyone to read, making it easy for our community to gain a high-level overview of core development. We recently started publishing the weekly Core Dev Call, which can be found on the blog section of the gnosis.io website.

Making GNO native to Gnosis Chain

As it stands right now GNO was originally minted on Ethereum and thus is native to Ethereum. GNO tokens on Gnosis Chain on the other hand come from a bridge contract. Essentially GNO on Gnosis represents a claim against GNO on Ethereum.

If everything runs smoothly those details should not make much of a difference and 1 GNO on Ethereum should be equal to 1 GNO on Gnosis. However - if bugs occur, or other forms of unexpected events it will actually make a difference.

Proposal to deploy BOB on Gnosis Chain

We would like to propose the deployment of BOB stablecoin on Gnosis. BOB is a multi-chain & multi-collateral stablecoin enhanced with optional privacy. BOB’s unique makeup and accompanying feature set (described below) are designed to bring more users, liquidity, and volume to any EVM chain.

“Humans of Gnosis” - an experimental Circles group currency

Circles (or CirclesUBI) is an application on Gnosis Chain that tries to implement a fair global currency based on the principle of UBI - money issuance is done as UBI (universal basic income). Each registered account gets 1 CRC each hour.

I am proposing here to start a list of “trusted Circles” accounts called “humans of Gnosis”. If the list proves to be useful entities that accept Circles will start using that list, basically saying, if your account is on the list, I will accept your Circles.

Gnosis Builders 2022 Report

The Gnosis Builders team is a result of the Gnosis Ecosystem Initiative (GIP-38) which introduced a focused multi-year ecosystem development effort. The initial objectives:

• enhance the developer and user experience
• grow developer and user adoption
• increase developer recognition and engagement
• broaden awareness of the platform narrative and values

Our general approach will be to first prepare the groundwork for future growth; then focus on developer, and project onboarding; then focus on transactional and user metrics.

GIP-79: Should Pluser integrate Gnosis Chain in MVP?

Pluser is a single account for all web3 apps with authorization via email, decentralized 2FA, device manager, and hack protection.

We want to get a $50,000 grant or SAFE investments from GnosisDAO. This money will be spent on maintaining the team and developing the MVP. Pluser can make the experience of using Gnosis Chain easier and safer. It will also help onboarding users from web2.
